THE ORIGINAL HERITAGE BOOKSHELF

Now available for the first time ever – the Klipsch Rebellion, Paul W. Klipsch’s original bookshelf loudspeaker design, engineered for low distortion and high performance. Envisioned as a center speaker between two Klipschorns in a three-channel stereo array, the Rebellion was called the H8 when it was introduced in 1958 as a smaller version of the legendary Heresy (which debuted the previous year). Now it’s back, better than ever, to claim its place in history as the original Heritage Series bookshelf speaker.

A new K-81-EP woofer delivers impressive, deep bass, while a rear tractrix flare port tube allows for efficient air transfer and reduces port noise. Combined into a compact cabinet, the Klipsch Rebellion punches way above its weight class.

THE CHANGING OF THE GUARD

Klipsch Group, Inc. becomes a wholly-owned subsidiary of Audiovox Corporation, with its new parent company changing its name to Voxx International in the process. A publicly traded company with a portfolio of consumer electronics brands, Voxx was founded in 1965 by industry legend John Shalam. During the transition, Fred. S. Klipsch moves to the board of directors of Voxx and Paul Jacobs is appointed CEO of Klipsch. A five-year partnership with Live Nation is announced and Indianapolis’ massive outdoor multi-stage amphitheater complex (Deer Creek) becomes the Klipsch Music Center, complete with a replica tin shed and Klipsch retail store, exposing the brand to millions of live music lovers for the first time.

Klipsch enters a multi-year experiential partnership with the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame that allows visitors to hear their favorite artists through legendary Klipsch sound throughout the museum. As the Rock Hall’s official loudspeakers, the Klipsch brand is also prominently displayed to a global audience during the institution’s yearly induction ceremony, music concerts, artist events, and multiple education series. The same year Klipsch introduces the Reference X-Series headphones with flagship model X-20i – the smallest, lightest, most comfortable headphones on the planet. The series is launched with four models, each sporting Klipsch’s patented oval ear tips.
