Klipsch launches first Heritage Bookshelf Loudspeaker: Rebellion never sounded so good
Vienna, Austria—June 4, 2026—Klipsch, celebrating 80 legendary years, announces a new model for the Heritage Series, the Klipsch Rebellion Premium Bookshelf Loudspeaker. Making its world debut today in Vienna, at the 2026 High End show, (June 4-7), the Rebellion is based on Paul W. Klipsch’s original 1958 design for the H8, of which only 16 were made. Featuring a high-efficiency two-way design, the new Rebellion delivers immersive, low-distortion sound with deep bass and crystal-clear highs from a compact cabinet, hand-built in Hope, Arkansas. Show attendees will be the first to experience the Rebellion and view an original H8, in addition to other artifacts on loan from Klipsch Museum of Audio History, on display in Klipsch’s Booth 1.61/1.62.
"When it comes to product development on our Heritage line, the most important design goal is to ensure that we are honoring the legacy and vision of Paul W. Klipsch and the Klipsch brand," said Andy Spalla, Klipsch’s Senior Product Manager. "For years Heritage fans have been asking for a bookshelf option, and there was no more appropriate way to start than with an original PWK design, so that Klipsch carries forward the legacy of Heritage Series category-defining loudspeakers proudly made in the USA.”
The Klipsch Rebellion is a two-way speaker design that elevates PWK’s original design with updates, including a highly efficient K-702 tweeter mounted to a K-703 Tractrix® horn with Klipsch patented Mumps™ for distortion-free, crystal-clear highs. A new K-81-EP woofer delivers deep, impressive low end—and, for the first time, a rear Tractrix flare port designed by the Klipsch team allows more efficient air transfer to reduce port noise for cleaner, more powerful bass.
Like all Klipsch Heritage speakers, each speaker is grain-matched using wood veneer panels from the same timber, so that each pair of speakers is unique. Ideal for two-channel stereo playback, or as part of a Klipsch Heritage home theater system, the Klipsch Rebellion is designed for the Klipsch KS-24 speaker stands.
The Rebellion features a black cloth grille paired with standard finishes, including American Walnut and Black Ash. In celebration of Klipsch’s 80th anniversary, a limited-edition finish of Tigerwood will also be available. Like all Heritage models, Rebellion is hand-built to last by the proud craftspeople in Hope, Arkansas.
