This beautiful California Black Walnut hardwood is harvested along the West Coast of the United States and is a mixture of wood species created by grafting native California Walnut and English Walnut. The hardwood can range from a pale brown to dark chocolate brown, with darker brown streaks. California Black Walnut may have a colorful, streaked appearance which is sometimes referred to as “marbled Claro walnut”.

This will be a limited production run. Each speaker will feature a small special edition plaque, located on the back of the enclosure, and is hand-signed by the craftsman.

In the back of the cabinet the Forte III has a secret. The Forte III’s well-extended bass is found in the use of a rear-mounted passive radiator. A mammoth 15” (38 cm) in size, this sub-bass radiator operates on acoustic pressure generated by the woofer for greater bass output and extension.

Klipsch only uses book-matched wood veneers for the Heritage series. The veneer leaves are kept in order as they are delicately sliced from the timber and precisely arranged to provide a mirror image at the splice joint — like turning the pages of a book. This gives each speaker a more aesthetically appealing and consistent appearance that is treasured more than any other cut of wood veneer.

The Forte III is meticulously handcrafted and assembled using the finest quality materials, even down to the highest-grade adhesives and fasteners. This is a speaker that will be handed down for generations to come.

Even though PWK had hand-picked Gary Gillum to succeed himself as chief engineer (the first ever hired) he continued to be intimately involved in loudspeaker research, often contributing key technologies and improvements to the Forte’s design. Paul’s hand was ever-guiding, especially with the speaker’s crossover network, insisting that “all speakers should be fine-tuned by the human ear." Thus, we've inducted the Forte III into the Heritage Series Loudspeaker family.
