INDIANAPOLIS (April 3, 2013) —Klipsch, a leading global speaker manufacturer, announces its participation in Ride Snowboards’ Ride Shakedown event taking place April 5-6 at Mont Saint-Sauveur mountain in Quebec, Canada.

The 12th annual snowboarding competition will feature 40 invited professionals, 80 amateurs and more than 25,000 fans. What distinguishes the Ride Shakedown and contributes to its success is its competition format, a laid-back and festive environment where the constraints on the athletes are minimal. At the center of the action, the public benefits from an accessible and entertainment-packed show. At the Ride Shakedown, the athletes participate in a slope-style competition, which involves mastering two distinct disciplines: the Big Air and a rail with different features which is only unveiled on the first day of the competition, a long-awaited day for the athletes and spectators.

As a recent partner of Ride, Klipsch will be onsite to demo its made-for-outdoor headphone products including the Image® S4i™ Rugged and Image® A5i Sport. Lucky attendees will also have the opportunity to take home a custom Image S4i Rugged by participating in giveaways taking place throughout the course of the event.

“It’s opportunities like this that made the partnership with Ride so appealing,” said Meredith Roney, headphone marketing manager for Klipsch. “The brand’s passionate fan base and renowned industry events provide the perfect scenario for acquiring new fans in a fun yet meaningful setting.”

“An event like the Ride Shakedown is the perfect stage in which to showcase our partnership with Klipsch. Their headphones are second to none and we look forward to helping bring that message to the snowboard community,” stated Scott Mavis, vice president of global marketing for Ride Snowboards. “Music has always played a huge part in the culture of snowboarding and Klipsch’s audio quality and attention to detail in their headphones allows snowboarders to do what we do best: tune out and drop in!”

In January 2013, Klipsch formed a strategic partnership with Ride Snowboards to enhance and extend the reach of current marketing initiatives and increase brand awareness within the relevant consumer market. Throughout the partnership, Klipsch will focus on creating direct connections to Ride’s target audience of snowboarders seeking premium products through co-branded messaging to both stimulate product trial and showcase the category-leading brands for athletes.
