INDIANAPOLIS (October 24, 2005) - Klipsch Audio Technologies announced that Peter Madsen, the renowned acoustical engineer and product designer behind multiple KEF and JBL speaker lines, has joined Klipsch as Director of Engineering. Madsen is responsible for developing new lines of Klipsch products for distribution throughout Europe.

Klipsch President Paul Jacobs has publicly stated that Klipsch plans to grow its sales outside of the U.S. to 50 percent of total revenue "in a few years time." He said Madsen's contributions to the Klipsch team would be critical to achieving this corporate goal.

"Peter has an indisputable track record for producing products that Europeans love to own," said Jacobs. "During his 33 year career, he has literally designed thousands of speakers, and many of them have gone on to become bestsellers across Europe and abroad."

Prior to joining Klipsch, Madsen worked for more than a decade as a speaker and systems designer for British speaker maker KEF. He developed products for JBL starting in 1986 and began his career in acoustic construction, design and research for Danish original equipment manufacturer Scanspeak in 1973.

Madsen holds bachelor's and master's degrees in acoustical and electronic engineering and is a member of the Audio Engineering Society. He has won the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) Award for four consecutive years and received multiple WHAT HI-FI Sound & Vision Magazine awards in the "Speaker of the Year" and "Best Buy" categories.
