INDIANAPOLIS (December 7, 2004) - At the 2005 International CES, Klipsch will let attendees experience the sheer power of its award-winning THX® Ultra2 custom home theater system inside a special sound reinforcement room in booth number 21419. Designed to deliver cinema-style sound to the comforts of home, this versatile and easy-to-install setup won a 2004 CES Innovations Award and has been tagged by specialty A/V retailers as "awesome," "impressive" and "spectacular."
Dave Wexler, owner of The Little Guys in Glenwood, Ill., said, "the Klipsch THX Ultra2 sounds better than any movie theater I have ever been to." He also mentioned that he has done thousands of demonstrations in his store and the Klipsch Ultra2 is by far the most impressive.
Blake Jochum, manager of residential systems at All Pro Sound in Pensacola, FL., said the Ultra2 is an absolute home run for Klipsch and called it "simply awesome."
The Klipsch THX Ultra2 family consists of two sizes of LCR front speakers, one surround, one subwoofer and a sub amplifier. These models can be assembled in a variety of combinations including a true THX Ultra2 system in a 7.1 configuration.
Because the Klipsch THX Ultra2 System is built for optimal versatility, any combination of the sonically matched LCR speakers will deliver the desired performance, and the LCRs may also be used as surrounds. Proprietary Klipsch Tractrix® Horn tweeters and Cerametallic™ woofers are used throughout to deliver the ultimate in power, detail and emotional impact from durable, easy-to-install cabinets.
According to Bruce Cullom, president of Sound Towne in Texarkana, TX., he has been selling Klipsch products for 33 years, and, for the money, the THX Ultra2 delivers the most dynamic performances he has ever heard, calling it an experience in "you-are-there realism."
While each THX Ultra2 component is sold separately, a complete 10-piece system in a 7.1 configuration has a U.S. MSRP of $10,750 and consists of three KL-650-THX LCRs, two KL-525-THX LCRs, two KS-525-THX surrounds, two KW-120-THX subwoofers and one KA-1000-THX subwoofer amplifier. The smaller KL-525-THX LCRs serve as surround back speakers.
