Put the finishing touches on any great commercial sound system with the new CA-SW-8T all-purpose, indoor/outdoor subwoofer. This compact and rugged passive subwoofer with an internal multi-tap transformer nicely complements the Klipsch CA-Series and other small to medium sized full-range speaker installations by adding high-impact, robust bass.

The CA-SW-8T shakes things up and delivers a deep, driving sound through an 8-inch, long excursion driver that has a high-temperature voice coil attached to an IMG (injection-molded graphite) cone that combines light weight, excellent rigidity, and water resistance. As a result, this ported subwoofer is capable of high output while remaining extremely reliable. Maximum continuous output is a remarkable 111dB SPL. And since AES rated sensitivity is 92dB, adequate levels can be achieved with modest amplifier power using the CA-SW-8T.

This durable subwoofer's paintable, weather-and UV-resistant ABS plastic enclosure and powder-coated aluminum grille facilitate easy placement in harsh, outdoor environments. For distributed sound system applications, the internal multi-tap transformer allows 70-volt, 100-volt, or pass through 6 ohm operation.

Five-way, binding-post inputs simplify connections, and there is a fixed, low-pass crossover at 150Hz. For easy wall or ceiling mounting, the CA-SW-8T comes with a C-bracket assembly that attaches to threaded studs in the cabinet with oversized knobs, ensuring positive lock. And at just 19 pounds, this subwoofer is easy to adjust for optimal coverage.

Built from the inside out for performance and durability, the CA-SW-8T adds warmth and body to commercial sound systems.

Architectural Specifications

The CA-SW-8T passive subwoofer system shall include an 8-inch weather-resistant IMG-cone driver. Signal shall be provided to the transducer via a passive internal low-pass filter with a 12dB/octave slope above a 150Hz cutoff frequency. The enclosure tuning shall be bass reflex.

The frequency response shall be 51Hz to 135Hz, +/-4dB, with the -10dB point at 42Hz, measured at three meters, half space anechoic. Sensitivity shall be 92dB SPL, measured at one meter, half space anechoic, with a 2.83V input. Power handling shall be 150 watts (25V), to AES standards, continuous pink noise, 50Hz to 10kHz, 6dB peaks. Calculated maximum continuous output at one meter shall be 111dB SPL. Nominal impedance shall be at 6 ohms with a 4 ohm minimum at 92Hz. Connections shall be made via 5-way binding posts.

A removable powder-coated aluminum grille shall be provided for protection of the transducer from tampering or damage. The enclosure shall be of UV- and weather resistant ABS plastic, available in black or white, with dimensions of 11.125" (28.26cm) high by 16.375" (41.59cm) wide by 11.75" (29.85cm) deep. Net weight shall be 19lbs. (8.6kg). Mounting shall be via protruding stainless steel threaded studs on the side enclosure panels, mating to large external knobs for positive attachment to the C-shaped mounting bracket (included).

The system shall be a Klipsch CA-SW-8T subwoofer.
