As part of the THX® Ultra2 family, the KS-525-THX surround loudspeaker with Klipsch Wide Dispersion Surround Technology™ (WDST) brings a new dimension of reality to home theater by using the same high-performance technology as the Klipsch professional cinema systems.

The KS-525-THX produces a smooth, seamless, broad distribution of sound by employing a pair of 5.25-inch Cerametallic™ woofers and dual 5-inch square Tractrix® Horn tweeters in a Wide Dispersion Surround Technology array. WDST is the industry's no-compromise approach to surround speaker design because it offers both rich, immersion surround sound and precise localization of individual effects from a speaker that has much more placement flexibility than conventional designs.

This surround's sealed enclosure has the dado and rabbet construction used in Klipsch professional speakers, ensuring cabinet integrity in suspended applications. The Omni-Mount suspension points facilitate wall or ceiling mounting using standard hardware.

Available in a custom Galaxy black finish with an aluminum fascia, the KS-525-THX also utilizes top-of-the-line internal wiring to help listeners experience the true impact and exhilaration of surround sound.

R-5650-S

Engineered to bring a new dimension of reality and convenience to a flush-mount design, the Klipsch R-5650-S in-wall surround sound speaker features a unique patented horn array that allows system designers to create enveloping sound fields and localized effects without disrupting a home's décor. In fact, Electronic House Expo (EHX) voted it 2005's best in-wall speaker on the market for less than $1,000 a pair.

Designed specifically for surround use in home theater applications, the R-5650-S employs a 6.5-inch Cerametallic™ woofer and dual 1-inch titanium compression drivers. Because of its patented horn array, which is two vertically stacked Tractrix® Horn-loaded tweeters pointing in opposite directions, the R-5650-S outperforms conventional designs by maximizing diffusion, clarity and efficiency, while minimizing room interactions that blur sonic detail.

The R-5650-S draws listeners into the middle of the action through the use of Klipsch's proprietary Wide Dispersion Surround Technology or WDST™. The careful alignment of the two controlled-directivity Tractrix Horn tweeters, angled opposite of one another, yields an incredibly wide dispersion pattern.

Able to function in any standard wall, ceiling or drop ceiling, the R-5650-S can be paired with the Klipsch IK-650-W installation kit (sold separately). This revolutionary kit design incorporates a mud ring, breakaway wire tie and color-coded brackets for easy speaker size identification. It also includes perforated metal wings that easily fasten to the studs via screws, staples or nails. Painted white for easy marking and placement, these metal wings can be folded around the edge of the studs if necessary.

RS-42

Delivering detailed and lifelike performances, the Reference Series RS-42 brings a new dimension of reality and convenience to the world of surround sound. Offering superior technology and elegant design at an enticing price, this surround speaker let's you experience the full impact of high-performance special effects.

Adopting a completely new cabinet and driver layout that is similar to the Klipsch THX® Ultra2 KS-525-THX surround speaker, the RS-42 establishes greater output, improved coverage and increased power handling to further extend Klipsch's best-in-class surround sound performance.

Exclusive Tractrix® Horns have always been the key component of the Reference Series. In the RS-42, this technology has been refined to include improved throat geometry for a more genuine, lifelike sound. Behind the speaker's dual horns lie 1-inch titanium tweeters with powerful neodymium magnet motor structures to provide a unique combination of precision, clarity and effortless dynamics.

The RS-42 employs dual 4-inch woofers for a solid bass foundation. These Cerametallic™ woofers with inverted copper dust caps exhibit a very high stiffness-to-mass ratio and superb damping characteristics.

Klipsch Wide Dispersion Surround Technology™ (WDST) provides crystal-clear sonic detail even in listening areas with less than ideal configurations. The Tractrix Horns deliver a 90-degree wide by 60-degree high dispersion pattern. By aligning two horns at 90-degrees with respect to each other, WDST smoothly covers a 180-degree horizontal arc. In other words, the surround sound is pointed at you no matter where you are seated.

While increased baffle ribbing around the horn mouth dramatically improves acoustics across the sonic range, the crossover utilizes Klipsch custom internal wiring and the finest components to provide signal purity and perfect driver integration.

Available in a matte black vinyl finish, the RS-42 also features side-firing ports to eliminate turbulence noise and back-panel keyholes and ¼" threaded inserts to simplify installation. A low-diffraction, magnetically attached grille further accentuates the elegance of this speaker.

RS-10

Part of the new entry-level Reference 10 family, the RS-10 surround loudspeaker offers the same advanced technology and world-class materials as the Reference III surrounds but from a smaller enclosure and at a lower price point.

The RS-10 delivers precise sonic detail through the careful positioning of two Tractrix® Horn loaded titanium-dome tweeters and one 4-inch woofer. By aligning the two horns at 90 degrees with respect to each other, along with the front-firing woofer, the RS-10 smoothly covers a 180-degree horizontal arc, allowing maximum placement flexibility. This unique Wide Dispersion Surround Technology™ delivers a new dimension of reality and convenience, and produces a smooth, seamless broad distribution of sound, which is the perfect vehicle for every surround format.

The woofer on the RS-10 still features Klipsch's distinctive, copper-colored Cerametallic™ material. Made with an anodized aluminum, this cone is strong and dent resistant. The anodizing process converts its inner and outer surfaces to ceramic. The outcome is a rigid cone with superb damping characteristics that will not flex or resonate at frequencies within the woofer's operating range.

As in all Reference Series speakers, the RS-10 crossover network is constructed using extremely high-quality components including top-of-the-line internal wiring, polyester film-type capacitors and an air-core inductor to ensure signal purity and proper driver integration.

The RS-10 comes with a back-panel keyhole for on-wall mounting and a threaded insert for attachment to popular adjustable wall and ceiling brackets.

Available in a black vinyl finish, the RS-10 features a low-diffraction sculpted baffle and a grille for an elegant fit and finish.

Because it is capable of producing enveloping ambient sound fields and localizing specific surround effects, the RS-10 will give its listeners a level of you-are-there realism that is unheard of in this price category.

RSX-3

As one of the newest members of the Reference Satellite family, the RSX-3 is the smallest and most affordable monitor in the line. This extremely compact loudspeaker delivers the same dynamic sound experience that has made its larger counterparts best-sellers.

Available in a black finish, the RSX-3 is a two-way magnetically shielded speaker that employs a 3.5-inch Cerametallic™ woofer and 0.75-inch titanium-dome compression driver coupled to an exclusive round MicroTractrix™ Horn for maximum clarity and efficiency. This speaker also features high-quality network components and premium internal wiring.

The woofer is a long-throw unit driven by a powerful magnetic motor structure. The Cerametallic™ cone is lightweight with excellent rigidity, which dramatically reduces any resonance. As a result, the RSX-3 is capable of robust bass extending low enough for comfortable operation with today's built-in A/V preamp/processor and receiver crossovers.

The RSX-3 has an integrated pedestal stand with a ball joint that allows it to be adjusted in almost any direction by using the provided allen wrench. A keyhole is featured on the underside of the stand base for no-hassle wall mounting. The speaker grille magnetically snaps into place over the front baffle, while a sturdy five-way binding post ensures connection to any type of cable.

The RSX-3 is sold in a single box that includes four RSX-3s and one RCX-3. This speaker is also available in a complete home theater package called the Cinema 6. This package includes four RSX-3s, one RCX-3 and a Reference Series RPW-10 subwoofer.
