What is the difference between the Image X10 and the Image X5?

The X5 is a slightly larger—by only 2mm in diameter—than the flagship X10, so it’s easier and somewhat less expensive to manufacture, so we can pass the savings on to the end user. However, the X5 is still considered a very small, lightweight design and will continue the Image legacy of being the least fatiguing in-ear headphones around.

With respect to technology and sound performance, the X5 employs a balanced full-range armature driver with a tuned bass-reflex system, while the X10 uses a balanced full-range armature micro-driver with a tuned bass-reflex system. If you like a lot of bass, we recommend purchasing the X10; however, if you like want a superior top end with more forward voicing then the X5 is the right choice for you.

According to the Klipsch engineering team, the X5 continues Klipsch’s sound signature by performing accurately in the frequency and time domain, minimizing any phase distortion with its linear acceleration. As a result, you’ll hear things in your favorite recordings you never noticed before.

Why am I not getting enough bass response?

It’s probably because you don’t have a good ear seal. Be sure to try out the various ear tip sizes, as you may find that you need the double flange design for the best possible seal. You may also want to try pulling the ear tip out slightly, as it may have collapsed.

How do I know if I have a good seal?

A good seal ensures good sound. When no music is playing, your voice should sound louder and ambient noise should sound quieter, very similar to wearing a pair of ear plugs. Creating a tighter seal is simple. Insert the ear gel into the ear canal and then gently pull it back. This adjustment eliminates virtually all external noise so you can play your music at a lower volume, for a longer period of time, without experiencing ear fatigue.

Thanks to KlipschCast™ wireless technology, the CS-700 not only transmits CD-quality audio to its local subwoofer, but also to one or more of our award-winning RoomGroove iPod® speakers (sold separately), which also incorporates this uniquely superior wireless capability.

By themselves, the CS-700 and RoomGroove are top-flight performers; together, they deliver the full potential of a KlipschCast system—wirelessly sending superior music, TV or movie sound all over your home. There’s no wiring beyond the CS-700 satellites and power cords, no holes to drill and no difficult, time-consuming setup.      

How does it work? Simply, through KlipschCast, the CS-700 sends a wireless audio signal to one or more RoomGrooves. This signal can be the same one playing on the CS-700 or something entirely different. The CS-700 is capable of playing up to two separate sources at the same time. For example, the CS-700 can play a DVD movie in the living room, while the RoomGroove broadcasts the CS-700’s AM/FM tuner in the kitchen.

The RoomGroove can also play music locally, utilizing its retractable iPod dock, or through its auxiliary input for other MP3 players. Since the RoomGroove is a transceiver, it can transmit as well as receive, allowing it to send this MP3 music signal to other RoomGroove units throughout the house. In fact, users can create a multi-room music system with just RoomGrooves.

The robust 2.4GHz wireless technology found in the CS-700 and RoomGroove products offers unlimited add-on opportunities. Plus, the technology “sniffs out” the entire 2.4GHz band to detect other wireless technologies in use, such as wireless routers, and then transmits around the spectrum used by those sources. The home code dial on each of these wireless speakers allows you to select a code specific to all of your units to avoid interference from neighbor systems.

KlipschCast FAQs

Are the CS-700 satellite speakers wireless?
In order to function, these speakers must be connected to the system’s A/V center using the provided color-coded wires. However, set up is simple. You can have the entire CS-700 up and running in as little as 10 minutes.

Can the CS-700 satellites be wall mounted?
Yes, but they only accept ¼ - 20 inserts, which are commonly sold at hardware stores.

Can my CS-700 listen to my RoomGroove?
No, in a KlipschCast system that includes a CS-700 and one RoomGroove, the CS-700 serves as the main hub, meaning the RoomGroove can “listen” to what is being played on the CS-700, whether it’s DVDs, CDs or AM/FM radio. On the other hand, the CS-700 cannot “listen” to what is being played on the RoomGroove. 

The included IR remote will not turn my CS-700 on or off, what is wrong?
The remote might be in the incorrect input mode. The CS-700 remote is universal, so users must make sure that it’s in the correct input mode to control the system. You must be in “Disc” or “AM/FM” to control the CS-700. If a different input is selected, the remote is attempting to control the component plugged into that input (regardless of whether or not the remote is programmed to do so). If you are still experiencing problems after correcting the input mode, try replacing the remote’s battery. Then, if that does not work, contact Klipsch tech support at 1-800-KLIPSCH or support@klipsch.com.
