Image X5

Light in weight but heavy in sound, the X5 brings a new price point to our award-winning Image series—the world’s smallest headphone family. Loaded with advanced comfort features and proven technology, these earphones deliver pure sound performance without the pain.

A Legend in Sound, A Tradition of Progress

At the heart of every Klipsch product is over 60 years of audio expertise beating strong.
Our commitment to no-compromise performance has made us the preferred choice of top cinema operators, a leader in stereo and home theater sound and now a premium name in headphones.

Bigger than its award-winning and highly praised predecessor—the flagship Image X10—by only 2mm in diameter, the X5 is still very tiny and lightweight, continuing the Image legacy of being the smallest, most comfortable in-ear headphones on the market.

Complete Comfort and Fit
Image X5 earphones feature proprietary Contour Ear Gels that naturally fit the shape of your ear canals, reducing ear fatigue and producing a perfect acoustic seal. A good seal minimizes outside noise and allows you to enjoy your music at lower, safer volumes. Each flexible, oval-shaped ear gel is also light and narrow, making it almost impossible to feel inside your ear.

The X5 comes with five different sizes of washable ear gels: small, medium, and large single flange designs, as well as small and large double flange designs. This way, virtually everyone can find a precise fit.

Total Immersion
The X5 is designed to continue Klipsch’s 60-plus years of delivering stunningly precise audio. It is a balanced full-range armature driver design with a tuned bass-reflex system for crisp, clear highs and deep, impressive lows. In other words, you can experience rich, enveloping sound performances that virtually put you on stage with your favorite artists.

Beauty in the Details
A must-have for fashion-forward listeners, the X5 headphones feature sophisticated electroplated aluminum housings and streamlined, aerodynamic-shaped black “tails.” These flexible tails not only look good, they reduce cable stress and serve as an acoustic damper to minimize cable noise.

Built to Last
Klipsch has gone to great lengths to ensure the long-lasting durability of the Image X5, including its 50-inch-long cables. Put through extensive “real world” testing, these headphones feature strain relief at every cable connection point to help prevent wire damage.

Added Frills
The X5 is compatible with the iPod®, iPhone™ and virtually any device with a headphone jack. These earphones come with a compact pouch, an airplane adaptor, five sets of different-sized ear gels and an ear gel cleaning tool.

Image FAQs

What is the difference between the Image X10 and the Image X5?

The X5 is a slightly larger—by only 2mm in diameter—than the flagship X10, so it’s easier and somewhat less expensive to manufacture, so we can pass the savings on to the end user. However, the X5 is still considered a very small, lightweight design and will continue the Image legacy of being the least fatiguing in-ear headphones around.

With respect to technology and sound performance, the X5 employs a balanced full-range armature driver with a tuned bass-reflex system, while the X10 uses a balanced full-range armature micro-driver with a tuned bass-reflex system. If you like a lot of bass, we recommend purchasing the X10; however, if you like want a superior top end with more forward voicing then the X5 is the right choice for you.

According to the Klipsch engineering team, the X5 continues Klipsch’s sound signature by performing accurately in the frequency and time domain, minimizing any phase distortion with its linear acceleration. As a result, you’ll hear things in your favorite recordings you never noticed before.

Read review that compares the X10 and the X5.

Why am I not getting enough bass response?

It’s probably because you don’t have a good ear seal. Be sure to try out the various ear tip sizes, as you may find that you need the double flange design for the best possible seal. You may also want to try pulling the ear tip out slightly, as it may have collapsed.

How do I know if I have a good seal?

A good seal ensures good sound. When no music is playing, your voice should sound louder and ambient noise should sound quieter, very similar to wearing a pair of ear plugs. Creating a tighter seal is simple. Insert the ear gel into the ear canal and then gently pull it back. This adjustment eliminates virtually all external noise so you can play your music at a lower volume, for a longer period of time, without experiencing ear fatigue.

Read more FAQs.

Special Features

Learn how compression formats affect digital music quality.

Read about headphone design challenges.

CS-700

Sized to fit beautifully into any room, the CS-700 home theater system delivers immense cinema-style audio with fewer wires and components. And, because it features KlipschCast™ wireless technology, you can pair it with our RoomGroove iPod® speaker to set your music and movies free.

Applying the same kind of horn-loaded magic that makes Klipsch a worldwide leader in the professional cinema industry, the CS-700 brings astonishingly big movie theater sound to the comforts of home.

This 2.1 home theater system—featuring just two compact satellites, a wireless subwoofer and an A/V center—creates enveloping virtual surround sound performances that put you smack-dab in the middle of the action. It does so by applying Dolby® Virtual Speaker technology, which simulates the effect of a five-speaker surround system.

Each compact satellite employs dual magnetically shielded 3-inch woofers and a 0.75-inch magnetically shielded horn-loaded tweeter. The subwoofer utilizes an 8-inch, down-firing woofer and 200 watts of amplifier power to generate hard-hitting bass response. And, due to its compact size and wireless capability, it can easily be hidden away while still delivering dramatic low-end effects.

The CS-700 home theater’s A/V center has an up-converting DVD player that is capable of delivering a 1080i resolution via its HDMI output, so the signal matches the amazing resolution capability of an HD television. It also features an AM/FM tuner and three auxiliary inputs, allowing users to connect other audio devices to the unit. A universal IR remote control directs all system functions, as well as those of the TV and other entertainment devices.

No Muss, No Fuss Setup

Available in a sleek black finish, the CS-700 home entertainment system offers a clean, modern design that fits comfortably into any living environment. Essentially plug-and-play, it can be operating in as little as 10 minutes. All it takes is hooking the satellites and TV up to the A/V center using the color-coded wiring, then plugging in the A/V center’s power cord. With respect to the subwoofer, all you have to do is plug its power cord into the wall; no other connections are needed.

*Audio Everywhere—Wirelessly!

Watch the KlipschCast demo.

Thanks to KlipschCast™ wireless technology, the CS-700 not only transmits CD-quality audio to its local subwoofer, but also to one or more of our award-winning RoomGroove iPod® speakers (sold separately), which also incorporates this uniquely superior wireless capability.

By themselves, the CS-700 and RoomGroove are top-flight performers; together, they deliver the full potential of a KlipschCast system—wirelessly sending superior music, TV or movie sound all over your home. There’s no wiring beyond the CS-700 satellites and power cords, no holes to drill and no difficult, time-consuming setup.

How does it work? Simply, through KlipschCast, the CS-700 sends a wireless audio signal to one or more RoomGrooves. This signal can be the same one playing on the CS-700 or something entirely different. The CS-700 is capable of playing up to two separate sources at the same time. For example, the CS-700 can play a DVD movie in the living room, while the RoomGroove broadcasts the CS-700’s AM/FM tuner in the kitchen.

The RoomGroove can also play music locally, utilizing its retractable iPod dock, or through its auxiliary input for other MP3 players. Since the RoomGroove is a transceiver, it can transmit as well as receive, allowing it to send this MP3 music signal to other RoomGroove units throughout the house. In fact, users can create a multi-room music system with just RoomGrooves.

The robust 2.4GHz wireless technology found in the CS-700 and RoomGroove products offers unlimited add-on opportunities. Plus, the technology “sniffs out” the entire 2.4GHz band to detect other wireless technologies in use, such as wireless routers, and then transmits around the spectrum used by those sources. The home code dial on each of these wireless speakers allows you to select a code specific to all of your units to avoid interference from neighbor systems.

KlipschCast FAQs

Are the CS-700 satellite speakers wireless?
In order to function, these speakers must be connected to the system’s A/V center using the provided color-coded wires. However, set up is simple. You can have the entire CS-700 up and running in as little as 10 minutes.

Can the CS-700 satellites be wall mounted?
Yes, but they only accept ¼ - 20 inserts, which are commonly sold at hardware stores.

Can my CS-700 listen to my RoomGroove?
No, in a KlipschCast system that includes a CS-700 and one RoomGroove, the CS-700 serves as the main hub, meaning the RoomGroove can “listen” to what is being played on the CS-700, whether it’s DVDs, CDs or AM/FM radio. On the other hand, the CS-700 cannot “listen” to what is being played on the RoomGroove.

The included IR remote will not turn my CS-700 on or off, what is wrong?
The remote might be in the incorrect input mode. The CS-700 remote is universal, so users must make sure that it’s in the correct input mode to control the system. You must be in “Disc” or “AM/FM” to control the CS-700. If a different input is selected, the remote is attempting to control the component plugged into that input (regardless of whether or not the remote is programmed to do so). If you are still experiencing problems after correcting the input mode, try replacing the remote’s battery. Then, if that does not work, contact Klipsch tech support at 1-800-KLIPSCH or support@klipsch.com.

Read more FAQs.

THX Ultra2

The award-winning Klipsch THX® Ultra2 custom home theater system brings real cinema sound to the comforts of home by using the same professional-grade technology as Klipsch's renowned commercial theater systems.

Because it expertly delivers the raw explosiveness and fine detail of any film format, the Ultra2 will shatter your expectations for home theater performance by creating the most dramatic and realistic entertainment experiences you've ever heard.

The THX Ultra2 family consists of two sizes of LCR front speakers, one surround, one subwoofer and a subwoofer amplifier. These models can be assembled in a variety of combinations including a true THX Ultra2 system in a 7.1 configuration, which consists of three KL-650-THX LCRs, two KL-525-THX LCRs, two KS-525-THX surrounds, two KW-120-THX subwoofers and one KA-1000-THX subwoofer amplifier. The smaller KL-525-THX LCRs serve as rear center speakers.

This system was built for versatility, so any combination of the sonically matched LCR speakers will deliver seamless performance, and the LCRs may also be used as surrounds. Proprietary Klipsch Tractrix® Horn tweeters and Cerametallic™ woofers are used throughout to deliver the ultimate in power, detail and emotional impact from durable, easy-to-install cabinets.

All enclosures have the dado and rabbet construction used in Klipsch professional speakers, ensuring cabinet integrity in suspended applications. Omni-Mount suspension points on the LCR and surround speakers facilitate wall or ceiling mounting using standard hardware. Each Ultra2 component, except the amplifier, comes in a Galaxy black finish with aluminum fascia. The amplifier comes in a standard black finish.

The THX Ultra2 system is a big step up in performance for home installation. It proves that big movie theater sound can come in a convenient take home size. In fact, immediately following its launch, the Klipsch THX Ultra2 proved to be a runaway success. It has brought home several honors including a 2004 CES Innovations Award, 2004 CE Pro High-Impact Product of the Year Award and a 2004 EH Product of the Year Award for the KW-120-THX and KA-1000-THX.

Armed with explosive dynamics that won’t disrupt your home’s décor, the THX® Ultra2-certified KL-7502-THX in-ceiling speaker creates realistic audio experiences that rival those found in large movie theaters and concert halls.

Our top-of-the-line in-ceiling LCR speaker, the KL-7502-THX uses highly respected certification, patented technology and premium materials to deliver compelling audio experiences that are second to none. In fact, most in-ceiling speakers can’t “fool” listeners into believing the sound is coming directly at them, rather than from above. But that’s not a problem for the KL-7502-THX, as it offers articulate detail, powerful impact and excellent localization.

The KL-7502-THX employs dual 5.25-inch Cerametallic woofers that operate in an enclosed tuned-port chamber. These exclusive woofer cones offer superb damping characteristics that will not flex or resonate at frequencies within the drivers’ operating ranges, resulting in consistent bass response regardless of the installation or ceiling air space.

A 1-inch titanium tweeter in a patented 60-90-110-degree horn that features Variable Coverage Technology, or VCT, allows the speaker to create precise imaging and localized sound fields.

Adding to its first-class sound, the KL-7502-THX also has a premium look and feel with its grille off, featuring a deluxe MDF baffle with aluminum fascia. But when covered, the speaker’s paintable grille allows it to blend in perfectly with any home décor. All-new sure-grip mounting dogs offer even pressure against drywall for long-term installation reliability.

Furthermore, the KL-7502-THX comes with a lot of options. It is timbre matched to all of our THX Ultra2-certified products, so you can mix and match for the discreet stereo or home theater system that’s just right for you.

RC-62

As the leading supplier to the cinema industry, Klipsch understands that a movie falls apart if every whisper of dialogue is not heard. With its superior technology and elegant design, the Reference Series RC-62 center channel delivers all of the detail, subtleties and dynamics required for the ultimate home theater experience.

Exclusive Tractrix® Horns have always been the key component of this critically acclaimed series. In the RC-62, this technology has been refined to include improved throat geometry for a more genuine, lifelike sound. Behind the horn lies a 1-inch titanium tweeter with a large ceramic motor structure to provide a unique combination of precision, clarity and effortless power.

The RC-62 employs dual 6.5-inch woofers for a solid bass foundation. These Cerametallic™ woofers with inverted copper dust caps exhibit a very high stiffness-to-mass ratio and superb damping characteristics.

Klipsch Tapered Array™ technology operates both woofers at the lowest frequencies - maintaining the high output capability necessary for good center channel performance - but only one operates all the way through the midrange to where the tweeter takes over. This eliminates acoustic interference between the woofer outputs, a flaw in conventional speaker designs that can severely impair sound quality at the sides of the listening area.

The RC-62's rigid cabinet offers improved internal cross-bracing to minimize panel vibrations that can color sound. Twin front-firing ports eliminate turbulence noise, while increased baffle ribbing around the horn mouth dramatically improves acoustics across the sonic range. For signal purity and perfect driver integration, the crossover on the RC-62 features the finest components and Klipsch custom internal wiring.

Available in a black woodgrain vinyl finish, the fully video-shielded RC-62 comes with a low-diffraction, magnetically attached grille to further accentuate the elegance of this speaker.

RS-10

Part of the new entry-level Reference 10 family, the RS-10 surround loudspeaker offers the same advanced technology and world-class materials as the Reference III surrounds but from a smaller enclosure and at a lower price point.

The RS-10 delivers precise sonic detail through the careful positioning of two Tractrix® Horn loaded titanium-dome tweeters and one 4-inch woofer. By aligning the two horns at 90 degrees with respect to each other, along with the front-firing woofer, the RS-10 smoothly covers a 180-degree horizontal arc, allowing maximum placement flexibility. This unique Wide Dispersion Surround Technology™ delivers a new dimension of reality and convenience, and produces a smooth, seamless broad distribution of sound, which is the perfect vehicle for every surround format.

The woofer on the RS-10 still features Klipsch's distinctive, copper-colored Cerametallic™ material. Made with an anodized aluminum, this cone is strong and dent resistant. The anodizing process converts its inner and outer surfaces to ceramic. The outcome is a rigid cone with superb damping characteristics that will not flex or resonate at frequencies within the woofer's operating range.

As in all Reference Series speakers, the RS-10 crossover network is constructed using extremely high-quality components including top-of-the-line internal wiring, polyester film-type capacitors and an air-core inductor to ensure signal purity and proper driver integration.

The RS-10 comes with a back-panel keyhole for on-wall mounting and a threaded insert for attachment to popular adjustable wall and ceiling brackets.

Available in a black vinyl finish, the RS-10 features a low-diffraction sculpted baffle and a grille for an elegant fit and finish.

Because it is capable of producing enveloping ambient sound fields and localizing specific surround effects, the RS-10 will give its listeners a level of you-are-there realism that is unheard of in this price category.

RF-7

The RF-7 utilizes a combination of professional grade materials and advanced horn technology for a smooth response and consistent coverage pattern. The Reference Series flagship's 1.75" titanium dome compression driver is coupled to an 8" square Tractrix® Horn and powered by an unusually large, video-shielded 22oz. magnet. This combination offers the speed and accuracy needed to deliver clear, accurate, non-fatiguing high frequencies and upper midrange frequencies at any volume level. This design approach is so efficient that it virtually eliminates the most common cause of driver failure — excessive energy.

The two 10" Cerametallic™ woofer cones are lighter, stronger and better damped than commonly used cone materials. Cerametallic™ is a specially treated aluminum that has been anodized, or electro-chemically transformed into ceramic on both outer surfaces. Similar to the motor of the large compression driver, powerful, video-shielded 50oz. magnets drive these woofers, allowing for precise signal tracking without blurring the sound. Aesthetically, the unmistakable copper color of our Cerametallic™ cones gives the RF-7 its distinctive Klipsch Reference look.

The RF-7's cast-aluminum woofer frames, which have high impact tolerance to stabilize the woofer motors and guarantee their critical alignment, are designed to be stronger and more functional than typical driver "baskets," and actually contribute to the overall enhanced performance. These non-magnetic woofer baskets eliminate any loss of magnetic energy needed for output and dynamic headroom. And the vented pole piece cools the motor and voice coil to enhance reliability.

The high quality crossover networks of the RF-7 are carefully designed for a seamless blend between the lower midrange and upper bass frequencies. They use the highest quality internal wiring, as do the external bi-wire jumpers of the newly developed circular input cup on the loudspeaker's exterior. This materials upgrade ensures top-of-the-line connection from the electronics all the way through to the voice coil of each Klipsch audio system.

Two large tuned ports on the RF-7 reduce distortion and allow for better dynamics. Their larger size, inner and outer flaring, and precise tuning increase efficiency and bass response, which allows for more output with less distortion. Dual windowpane braces are an enclosure feature that contributes to the RF-7's structural rigidity and resonance control.

Although many people will choose to show off the copper-colored Cerametallic™ cones, each RF-7 comes with a curved, cloth-covered, stand-off grille. This distinguished "floating grille" creates a physical barrier, protecting the drivers from damage and actually works to minimize sonic reflections. A spiked or protective tipped, stabilizing outrigger foot complements the enclosure's computer-optimized bracing, which minimizes cabinet vibration and reduces unwanted coloration.&nn and reduces unwanted coloration.

Listeners are encouraged to brace themselves for a dynamic sound experience because the RCX-4 delivers everything from the faintest whisper to the loudest roar with complete clarity.

To meet the demand for speakers that fit almost anywhere and still deliver excellent sound, Klipsch has developed a new compact center channel for its legendary Reference Series line. The RCX-4 enters the lifestyle category by combining performance, style and functional versatility for users who want dynamic sound but in a small, unobtrusive package.

This horizontal-oriented center channel can handle multiple installation applications without trading off sound for style and convenience. Its high-performance sound nicely enhances stereo or home theater applications, allowing consumers to create captivating audio experiences.

The RCX-4 delivers incredibly dynamic and accurate performances by utilizing a 1-inch titanium-dome compression driver coupled to Klipsch's new round MicroTractrix™ Horn. This magnetically shielded speaker also employs a pair of 4-inch woofers that flank the MicroTractrix® horn.

The woofer is a long-throw unit powered by a unique neodymium motor structure. The Cerametallic™ cones are lightweight with excellent rigidity, which dramatically reduce any resonance. As a result, the RCX-4 is capable of robust bass extending low enough for comfortable operation with today's built-in A/V preamp/processor and receiver crossovers.

This center channel also utilizes Klipsch's Tapered-Array™ Technology, a 2.5-way design that minimizes the acoustical interference between drivers that plagues most horizontal center-channel speakers. This technology allows both woofers to create intense bass, while only one works with the tweeter to produce the midrange. The result is a smooth, clear sound not just directly in front of the speaker, but off to the sides as well, where conventional center speakers often exaggerate or mask sounds.

The woofers on the RC-10 still feature Klipsch's distinctive, copper-colored Cerametallic™ material. Made with an anodized aluminum, these cones are strong and dent resistant. The anodizing process converts their inner and outer surfaces to ceramic. The outcome is a rigid cone with superb damping characteristics that will not flex or resonate at frequencies within the woofer's operating range.

As in all Reference Series speakers, the RC-10 crossover network is constructed using extremely high-quality components including top-of-the-line internal wiring, polyester film-type capacitors and an air-core inductor to ensure signal purity and proper driver integration.

Available in a black vinyl finish, the RC-10 features a low-diffraction sculpted baffle and a magnetically attached grille for an elegant fit and finish.

Because the design requirements of a center channel are quite challenging, it is difficult to make a modestly sized, horizontally oriented loudspeaker that performs exceptionally. Despite its compact enclosure, the RC-10 easily carries on the Reference Series' high-performance legacy

Quintet™ III

A third generation product, the Quintet™ III Home Theater System carries on its popular lineage by remaining our all-time best-selling home theater bundle. It proves that compact dimensions and sophisticated style can coexist with dynamic sound.

Comprised of four miniature satellites and a low-profile center channel, the Quintet™ III Home Theater System incorporates decades of class-leading research and development experience. In fact, it applies the same cutting-edge technology that's found in our professional cinema products.

Each magnetically shielded satellite employs a 0.75-inch aluminum diaphragm tweeter coupled to an exclusive MicroTractrix™ Horn for precise high frequencies. The 3.5-inch long-throw woofers produce remarkable detail and clarity. The swiveling pedestal base featured on each satellite facilitates easy wall or shelf placement and gives the speaker a 180-degree range of motion, allowing users to widen or constrict the soundstage based on audience size.

The two-way magnetically shielded center channel uses the same MicroTractrix Horn tweeter and two of the 3.5-inch woofers found in the satellites to ensure an ideal sonic match and proper driver transition across the listening area.

In order to create the low-frequency power you can hear and feel, we recommend pairing the Quintet™ III Home Theater System up with our Sub-10 subwoofer (sold separately). The Sub-10 reaches deeper and hits harder thanks to a 10-inch, down-firing driver coupled to a highly efficient BASH amplifier.

In addition to its high-end components, the Quintet™ III Home Theater System has a modern, refined industrial design. While the satellites and center channel feature a dark gray finish with medium gray accents, the optional Sub-10 is available in a black ash vinyl finish with titanium accents.

It's obvious something special happens while listening to your favorite music and movies on a Quintet™ III Home Theater System. So what are you waiting for? Get this miniature marvel for your house, apartment, or dorm room today!
