Featuring a black soft-feel paint finish with copper accents on its earbuds, Custom-3 earphones utilize dark gray patent-pending Contour Ear Gels that are anatomically designed to accurately fit inside the human ear canal. These soft, oval silicon tips reduce ear fatigue as well as provide an amazing seal for excellent noise isolation and bass response.

Because ear canal measurements vary, Custom-3 headphones come with five different washable ear gel sizes: small, medium, and large single flange designs as well as small and large double flange designs.  Such variety allows these earphones to fit more of the population than the competition.

For perfect exterior comfort, flexible ear wires bend over and around the ears so they can be customized to each user. And not only do these adaptable wires provide optimal comfort, they also let users experience full or partial noise isolation—a great safety feature for on-the-go users. How do I get the flexible ear wires to mold precisely around my ears?
The flexible ear wires come pre-formed to fit most ears. However, to get a true custom feel, you will need to tweak the bend. Start by gently forming it to the back of your ear. You may need to adjust the angle of the earbud in your ear to help achieve a good seal or eliminate pressure points. Plan on spending up to five minutes checking the ear tip fit and wire adjustment. In many instances, you will need to bend the wire so that the nozzle is pointing forward and upward. Once you get it right, you'll find it was time well spent.

Why am I not getting enough bass response?
It’s probably because you don’t have the right ear seal. Be sure to try out the various ear tip sizes as you may find that you need the double flange design to achieve the best possible seal. You may also want to try pulling the ear tip back slightly as it may have collapsed.

How do I know if I have a good ear seal?
When no music is playing, your voice should sound louder and ambient noise should sound quieter, very similar to wearing a pair of ear plugs. Creating a tighter seal is simple. Insert the ear gel into the ear canal and then gently pull it back. Thanks to KlipschCast™ wireless technology, the RoomGroove not only lets you create a wireless multi-room music system with two or more units, it also works in conjunction with our CS-700 home theater system (sold separately), letting you wirelessly transmit CD-quality AM/FM radio, TV and movie sound all over your house. There’s no wiring beyond the CS-700 satellites and power cords, no holes to drill and no difficult, time-consuming set up.      

How does it work? Simply, through KlipschCast, the CS-700 sends a wireless audio signal to one or more RoomGrooves. This signal can be the same one playing on the CS-700 or something entirely different. The CS-700 is capable of playing up to two separate sources at the same time. For example, the CS-700 can play a DVD movie in the living room, while the RoomGroove broadcasts the CS-700’s AM/FM tuner in the kitchen.

The RoomGroove can also play music locally, utilizing its retractable iPod dock or through its auxiliary input for other MP3 players. Since the RoomGroove is a transceiver, it can transmit as well as receive, allowing it to send this MP3 music signal to other RoomGroove units throughout the house. In fact, users can create a multi-room music system with just RoomGrooves. And, a RoomGroove gives you a choice. If a home has three RoomGrooves and “Song A” is playing in the bedroom and “Song B” is playing in the office, then the RoomGroove in the kitchen can listen to either song or play what’s on its own iPod.

As a side note, the RoomGroove not only brings out the best in your iPod, it will also work with your computer. All you have to do is connect the RoomGroove to your computer via its auxiliary input. This allows you to broadcast your computer's entire music library, including content from your favorite Internet radio station, to other RoomGrooves around your house.  

The robust 2.4GHz wireless technology found in the RoomGroove and CS-700 offers unlimited add-on opportunities. Plus, the technology “sniffs out” the entire 2.4GHz band to detect other wireless technologies in use, such as wireless routers, and then transmits around the spectrum used by those sources. The home code dial on each of these wireless speakers allows you to select a code specific to all of your units to avoid interference from neighbor systems. 

KlipschCast FAQs

Up to what distance can KlipschCast products transmit and receive wireless signals?
These products were designed to have an average transmitting/receiving distance of 75 feet, broadcasting through walls, ceilings and floors. However, every scenario is different because every house is different. Homes that are primarily made of wood and drywall allow the KlipschCast wireless signals to travel great distances; homes featuring a lot of metal and concrete don’t always allow the wireless signals to travel as freely.

What if I lose my RoomGroove remote?
If you own a CS-700, the CS-700 remote can operate the RoomGroove. The only “non-intuitive” button is the input button on the CS-700 remote, which would be the listen button on the RoomGroove remote. 

Can I use KlipschCast products with other wireless products?
KlipschCast products are designed to only work with other KlipschCast products.

*Inserts are for structural (securing the iPod) purposes only. The three well inserts included in the box are for 30g, 60g, 80g, photo and mini iPods.  

1st and 2nd generation Nano inserts are available.  If your unit does not include them, please email promedia@klipsch.com.  We do not have 3rd generation Nano inserts available, however, the universal well inserts included with your iPod  are compatible with the SXT.
