Built from the inside out for performance and durability, the IC-SW-8T2 packs a lot of substance into commercial sound system.

Most distributed audio systems are plagued with thin-sounding performances, but the new IC-SW-8T2 in-ceiling subwoofer changes everything. Engineered for music reinforcement applications, these unobtrusive, easy-to-install loudspeakers feature a transformer-less design for 70V/100V distributed-line systems with two wattage settings. Since transformers severely limit a subwoofer's capabilities, this unique design is the perfect solution when building a great sounding commercial system.

The IC-SW-8T2 adds more dimension to any in-ceiling configuration by using an 8-inch woofer, 8-inch drone, polypropylene cones and high-temperature voice coils in the active driver. While most subwoofers use a port to increase output, the IC-SW-8T2 employs a bandpass design that utilizes a passive radiator. This eliminates a lot of the distortion and removes turbulence that is often present in ported designs. Maximum continuous output is a remarkable 111dB. And since AES rated sensitivity is 92dB, adequate levels can be achieved with modest amplifier power using the IC-SW-8T2.

Other key features of the IC-SW-8T2 include the ability to easily switch from low impedance to high impedance distributed-line applications as well as mono and two-channel inputs in low impedance modes. This durable subwoofer has an ABS plastic baffle, formed steel back can and a four-point terminal strip input connector and is UL 2043 and 1480 certified. The IC-SW-8T2 is shipped complete with a tile bridge for installation in a suspended ceiling or wherever additional reinforcement of the ceiling material is required. A mudring kit (part # 061347) is also available for drywall ceiling installations.

CMS 4.1

The Klipsch CMS 4.1 or Commercial Music System proves that compact dimensions and sophisticated style can coexist with high-performance sound. It is an excellent choice for 70V/100V distributed-line systems and other applications requiring unobtrusive, easy-to-install, high-quality loudspeakers.

A typical CMS 4.1 consists of four low-profile satellites, four satellite mounts, one network and either an in-ceiling or surface mount subwoofer. Because these components are sold separately, you can easily add to the system and bring just the right amount of sound to any size installation.

Available in black or white, the satellite is a marvel of miniature technology that maximizes output and dynamics. Klipsch's exclusive MicroTractrix™ Horn, the working element of this 7.5-inch tall loudspeaker is formed right into the cabinet baffle, a design that offers the lowest diffraction and maximum release of energy into the listening areas. The ported, bass-reflex enclosure maximizes bass response for a dynamic sound.

Also available in black or white, the mounting kit features a metal wall plate and a metal arm with a tip that offers both tilt and swivel features. Once properly positioned, the tip can easily be locked into place with the provided adjustment tool. Because of its hollowness, the arm also conceals the satellite's color-matched wire for a clean, professional appearance.

As one of the subwoofer options, the compact CA-800-TSW is an all-purpose, indoor/outdoor passive model with an internal multi-tap transformer. This product delivers deep, driving sound through an 8-inch, long excursion driver that has a high-temperature voice coil attached to an IMG (injection-molded graphite) cone that combines light weight, excellent rigidity, and water resistance. For easy wall or ceiling mounting, the CA-800-TSW comes with a heavy gauge zinc C-bracket assembly that attaches to threaded studs in the cabinet with oversized knobs, ensuring positive lock. An optional safety retainer allows for connection to a second mounting point, guarding against dislodging or tampering.

Also compact, the IC-8T-SW in-ceiling subwoofer option features a transformer-less design that delivers high-impact, robust bass. This model adds more dimension to any in-ceiling configuration by using an 8-inch woofer, 8-inch drone, polypropylene cones and high-temperature voice coils in the woofer. While most subwoofers use a port to increase output, the IC-8T-SW employs a bandpass design that utilizes a passive radiator. This eliminates a lot of the distortion and minimizes turbulence that is often present in ported designs. The IC-8T-SW is shipped complete with a tilebridge for installation in a suspended ceiling or wherever additional reinforcement of the ceiling material is required.

Specifically designed for this system, the UL-approved metal box outboard network features 70V/100V tap-settings and serves as a hub for up to four satellites and the chosen subwoofer.

This metal device has also been tested to meet UL 263, ASTM E119-98, NFPA 251, UBC 7-1 and ULC CAN/ULC-S101 - M89 standards.

The ME-650-C fits 16- or 24-inch stud spans. It also comes with all of the hardware needed for most installation applications, and provisions for standard conduit connections. Pre-drilled holes simplify the installation process and ensure that all safety requirements are met.

The optimized enclosure volume provides consistent acoustic performance regardless of construction variations. While the insulation exceeds fire requirements, it also reduces the sound transmission into adjacent spaces by at least 10dB.

The inside edge of the ME-650-C's mounting ring is color coded to match up with the corresponding Klipsch installation kit size code.
