The ProMedia™ 4.1 personal audio system is a five-piece, THX®-Certified, high output set of speakers based on our ground-breaking ProMedia v.2-400 surround sound design. The new ProMedia™ 4.1 maximizes audio signals from PC and Macintosh computers; MP3, CD, Minidisc and DVD players; video game consoles; and even digital video cameras, VCRs and televisions; providing a fun, involving listening experience.
Aesthetically identical to its predecessor (ProMedia™ v.2-400), the ProMedia™ 4.1 includes new key features that reflect feedback received from passionate fans of the original ProMedia™ design.
The first, most noticeable feature is the addition of headphone and stereo miniplug input jacks, which are located on the control pod of the main satellite speaker. As expected, the headphone jack offers a private listening option. The stereo miniplug input jack is used to directly connect portable audio devices to the ProMedia 4.1 personal surround sound system for added convenience and optimized sound reproduction.
The second feature introduced with the ProMedia™ 4.1 is an overall improvement or "tweak" of the crossover levels between high, mid, and low frequencies delivered by the speakers. Klipsch engineers have lowered the satellite crossover point, achieving a smoother, seamless reproduction that is more musical with excellent envelopment.
The two-way ProMedia™ 4.1 satellite speakers are driven by exclusive Klipsch MicroTractrix™ Horns that cleanly and accurately handle the high frequencies, creating a precise nearfield image and soundstage. A three-inch fiber-composite cone driver delivers smooth mid-bass reproduction. A preamplifier control pod, which features separate main volume surround volume, and subwoofer level controls, a headphone jack and the miniplug input, is located on one of the satellite units.
The subwoofer is a bass-reflex type with a flared, tuned front port and dual 6.5" side-firing drivers, which features a high output, five-channel, BASH® digital hybrid amplifier.
