INDIANAPOLIS (April 23, 2013) — Klipsch, a leading global speaker manufacturer, announces today the appointment of Roy Hibbert as an official brand ambassador. As a professional athlete making significant strides for the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) Indiana Pacers, Klipsch envisions a long-term relationship that seamlessly integrates Hibbert into all facets of the brand.

Hibbert will be incorporated heavily into the product development and marketing efforts serving the brand itself, as well as its headphones and home audio products. Proving invaluable will be his youthful insight and guidance as Klipsch works to develop fresh, lifestyle-focused products that meet the needs of new demographics, while still incorporating the brand’s legendary audio performance.

“I am very excited to be joining the Klipsch team. I have enjoyed using Klipsch products and feel very natural promoting the quality design and innovation that Klipsch has represented for more than a half century,” Hibbert commented.

“While utilizing a brand ambassador is very new to us, beginning the initiative with an individual like Roy couldn’t be more exciting,” said Steve Klipsch, senior vice president of operations for Klipsch. “Because Roy’s youth, passion and high-achievement standards translate perfectly across our brand ideals, he will help play a major role in creating new opportunities for brand and product visibility.”

Following his college career as an All-American from Georgetown University, Hibbert joined the Indianapolis Pacers in 2008 after being drafted 17th overall in the 2008 NBA Draft. Last season, Hibbert led the Pacers in rebounding, shot blocks and field goals, and was selected as an NBA All-Star for the first time. Internationally, Hibbert has represented the U.S. at the Pan-American Games and captained the Jamaica national basketball team.

Today’s announcement follows a recent partnership with the Indiana Pacers that solidified Klipsch as the team’s official headphone sponsor. As a result, the brand’s headphones are highly present among the team’s players, staff, broadcasters and spectators. In addition, the brand is involved in pre-game activities and in-game product giveaways to interact with fans during select home games at Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
