INDIANAPOLIS (November 6, 2012) — Klipsch, a leading global speaker manufacturer, today announces KlipschCast and Direct Connect, which represent two new features for the brand’s highly regarded Klipsch Gallery™ G-17 Air. Offering all-new wireless and music sharing capabilities, the music system redefines the listening experience yet again for any lifestyle.

With the most recent update of the Klipsch Air App in place, the newly added KlipschCast feature promotes and simplifies group music sharing. While the app itself represents a simple, familiar interface to assist in the setup of the G-17 Air, KlipschCast allows for individuals to add their own music to a G-17 Air owner’s playlist while listening in any group setting. To eliminate the hassle of disconnecting and connecting new devices to the wireless music system, KlipschCast allows new parties to join the G-17 Air owner’s active playlist within the app and add up to five songs at a time from their own iTunes library, creating a party list.

To ensure the G-17 Air can musically enhance life’s experiences anywhere—even where a WiFi network is unavailable—Klipsch has created Direct Connect. With the ability to unleash playlists wirelessly while tailgating or poolside, the G-17 Air feature creates its own mobile hotspot for seamless connection and play. To initiate Direct Connect, users need only to supply power to the G-17 Air, press and hold the wireless button until the LED flashes purple and connect to the Klipsch_G-17_Air_Setup network that appears in the phone or tablet’s wireless network list. Once this quick process is complete, users can stream music from iTunes or the Music app and have full control of it from the music player’s interface.

Measuring 17 inches in length and engineered for the ultimate sound experience, the AirPlay-enabled G-17 Air wireless music system captures the same distinct power, detail and emotion of Klipsch’s renowned horn-loaded speakers. Employing exclusive Tractrix® Horn technology, the music system effortlessly delivers legendary Klipsch sound, complete with reduced distortion and constant directivity for a live soundstage experience. The G-17 Air is compatible with Apple’s latest iOS devices and includes a USB input that enables universal device tethering for simultaneous play and charge.

“We designed the G-17 Air with maximum utility in mind to ensure it accommodates the ever-evolving generations of AirPlay-capable devices,” said Paul Jacobs, CEO of Klipsch. “With these two new features, we continue to reshape traditional listening as we unbind and diversify playlists, as well as provide the means for simplified, enhanced and transformative listening experiences anywhere.”

The Klipsch Gallery G-17 Air is currently available for purchase for just $499.99 (U.S. MSRP), as well as customized grilles designed specifically for the system that retail for $24.99 (U.S. MSRP) each. More information can be found at http://www.klipsch.com.
