INDIANAPOLIS (September 8, 2011) — Klipsch, a leading global speaker manufacturer, today announces the launch of the Klipsch Mode™ M40 Headphones, the company’s first active noise-cancelling (ANC) headphone model. Fashion-forward and engineered for maximum sound performance, the Klipsch Mode M40 is the essence of the unrivalled and uninterrupted listening experience.

Employing only the best in personal audio technology, the Klipsch Mode M40 headphones provide listeners upwards of 45 hours of ANC on a single triple AAA battery – nearly double the time offered by other ANC headphone models currently in market. Also differentiating the prestigious headphone, it serves as a fully-functioning stereo headphone without battery power.

Built from the same durable materials used in high-end eyewear, the Mode M40 exudes both fashion and luxury. Each lightweight ear cup features premium leather and a special high-density memory foam for hours of listening pleasure, while an adjustable headband ensures a perfect and secure fit. Complete with two detachable cloth cables similar to those used in premium, hi-fi systems, the headphone fits any device with a standard 3.5mm headphone jack. With one cord featuring an Apple ®-based mic and three-button remote, users can take calls and control music on an iPod ®, iPhone ® or iPad ® for added convenience and versatility. The mic is a highly intelligible 360° design with echo cancellation, so conversations will be crystal clear no matter the location.

Similar to Klipsch’s award-winning Image headphones, 65 years of world-renowned sound is at the heart of the Klipsch Mode M40. With a 40mm moving coil woofer and 15mm tweeter, this product delivers signature Klispch sound with deep bass, a dynamic midrange and clean, crisp highs.

“The attention to detail throughout the development of the Klipsch Mode speaks volumes to the look, feel and sound performance of the product,” said Mike Klipsch, president of global operations for Klipsch. “It was important we provide a headphone that serves as both an ANC and stereo headphone to ensure Klipsch fans have the potential for anytime listening. By doing so, we have created yet another industry-leading position for the brand in the heavily-saturated headphone marketplace.”

Available in bourbon finish with blazed copper accents, the Klipsch Mode M40 has collapsible ear cups that fit nicely into the included brown-leather carrying case. These headphones retail for $349.99 (U.S. MSRP) and come with a two-year warranty, one AAA battery, microfiber carrying case, airline adaptor and ¼-inch adaptor. The Klipsch Mode M40 will be available at authorized retailers and Klipsch.com in fall 2011.
