CE Face-Off

In an August 2004 CE Tips magazine comparison article, four subwoofers in the $500 to $750 price range went head-to-head to determine which had the best low-end performance and most wanted features.

Beating out the Cambridge SoundWorks P200, Infinity PS-12 and Pinnacle SubSonic, the Klipsch RW-12 was chosen because its overall performance was unsurpassed, its power and bass extension pack a physical wallop, and such bonuses as the three types of inputs, variable phase control, and a convenient volume knob give it an edge.

"The RW-12 offers some unique features, starting with a well-disguised port that opens along the lower front edge, which redirects its energy out the front along with the woofer."

"... its performance was sterling, with a snappy response and a big, deep, full-throated sound that put sonic muscle into music, while its depth and power furnished truly concussive explosions, impacts, and other low-frequency effects."
