Klipsch ProMedia Ultra 5.1

Reviewer Jacob Lumetta believes the Klipsch ProMedia Ultra 5.1 has a certain "Are you ready to rock!?" aura about it. As he cranked its volume up to extreme levels, the system seemed to have no difficulty maintaining its composure as more and more power surged through it. Maybe that's why he gave the Ultra 5.1 a ten out of ten and slapped an editor's choice award on it.

The Sound And the Fury

For the July 2004 issue of SmartMoney magazine, legendary rocker and sonic perfectionist Lou Reed filled his SoHo loft with five pairs of speakers from the biggest names in home audio to see whose performance prowess is worthy of the SmartMoney Award. Using some of his own music, Reed put the Klipsch RB-75, MartinLogan Clarity, Bowers & Wilkins 704, Infinity Primus 360 and Bose Acoustimass 5 Series III to the test. Feeling blah? I've got the cure.

Reviewer Steve Guttenberg discovered the power of Klipsch in the early 1980s. A friend played The Rolling Stones' Exile on Main Street on a pair of classic Klipsch Heresy models and Steve thought it sounded so good that neighbors would have believed Mick and the boys were gigging inside the apartment. Steve has since reviewed many Klipsch home theater systems, but it seems he may have found his favorite with the RB-75.

CE Face-Off

In an August 2004 CE Tips magazine comparison article, four subwoofers in the $500 to $750 price range went head-to-head to determine which had the best low-end performance and most wanted features.

Beating out the Cambridge SoundWorks P200, Infinity PS-12 and Pinnacle SubSonic, the Klipsch RW-12 was chosen because its overall performance was unsurpassed, its power and bass extension pack a physical wallop, and such bonuses as the three types of inputs, variable phase control, and a convenient volume knob give it an edge.

Klipsch Model Cornwall II Speaker System

For all of you old-school Klipsch fans, this classic review of the Cornwall II, published in the January 1969 issue of Audio magazine, discusses how this console-size speaker produced awesome bass, and could be driven to "concert hall" levels using only a 30-watt amplifier. Who knew they used the term "awesome" back then?

Top Gear

Klipsch Reference Series RF-15 Floorstanding Loudspeaker

After spending time with Klipsch's flagship Reference Series Bookshelf speaker (RB-75), reviewer Steve Guttenberg moved to the other end of the price point spectrum and lived with the RF-15 floorstander for a couple of months. Though he points out that a subwoofer is needed for those demanding the deepest bass, he states that the RF-15 achieves a home-theater ideal — sufficiently large enough to deliver enough gusto to rock our world, but its slim lines don't offend our finely attuned sense of decor...
