Overview

The Aragon 28k is a premier remote control preamplifier. The design features an oversized circuit board, which required a 19" X 11" chassis. Its size allowed for optimized placement of the component parts. The circuit, from any input to output, is fully discrete Class A. All transistors are matched so they operate as a single transistor, creating the simplest and purest signal path possible for a preamplifier. To maintain purity, there is only one switch contact from input to output. By eliminating output coupling capacitors, the 28k yields a deep and controlled bass with absolutely no phase shift within the audible range. To protect this extraordinarily pure circuit from unwanted noise, the internal power supply utilizes an encased toroidal transformer. Two outputs allow for biamping or, due to Aragon's advanced design and engineering, the additional output can be used to drive headphones directly from the 28k's discrete Class A circuit. The 28k employs laser-trimmed rotary potentiometers for both volume and balance controls. These are the same controls you would expect to find in a high-end preamp that is not compromised by remote operation. Motors are then added for remote rotation. The remote balance allows you to compensate for the deficiencies in a recording's stereo image by allowing you to shift it into perfect focus from your listening position.
