World’s Smallest Headphones Now Shipping

Klipsch makes a huge high-tech statement with tiny audio accessory

INDIANAPOLIS (December 19, 2007) — Not only is it the world’s smallest and lightest full-range in-ear headphone design, the Image X10 from Klipsch is designed to deliver precision-tuned acoustic experiences, as well as offer a personalized fit that prevents listener fatigue.

According to Mark Casavant, vice president of product development, Image X10 headphones are meant to be heard and not seen—or felt. “As the flagship design in the Image family, this ultra-compact, award-winning product delivers precise, natural sound as well as stakes its claim as the smallest, most comfortable headphones on the market,” he said.

In fact, the Consumer Electronics Association selected the Image X10 as an Innovations 2008 Design and Engineering honoree in the headphone category. Plus, since their launch, these headphones have received rave reviews for their advanced comfort features and superior sound, as well as earned Editor’s Choice Awards from several publications.

Image X10 headphones utilize patent-pending oval ear tips that naturally fit the shape of your ear canals, reducing ear fatigue and producing a perfect acoustic seal. A good seal minimizes outside noise, also known as noise isolation, and allows you to enjoy your music at lower, safer volumes. Each flexible ear tip is also light and narrow, making it almost impossible to feel inside your ear.

When Klipsch engineers began studying three-dimensional ear impressions, it was discovered that nearly everyone has an oval-shaped ear canal. The company couldn’t believe that no one else had yet considered the anatomical shape of the ear canal when designing in-ear headphones. Aside from their comfort value, Klipsch’s proprietary ear tips load quickly and easily into the ear canals as well as virtually disappear from view.

Because ear canal measurements vary, each Image X10 comes with five different-sized ear tips: small, medium, and large single flange designs as well as small and large double flange designs. Such variety allows these headphones to fit more of the population than the competition.

Casavant also noted that inside these compact gems, you’ll find over 60 years of audio expertise ready to let you hear what you have been missing. Image X10 headphones use an exclusive balanced full-range armature micro-driver with a tuned bass-reflex system to deliver superior acoustic experiences.

The X10 features aluminum bodies finished in anodized copper and sleek, aerodynamic-shaped black “tails.” These flexible “tails” reduce cable stress and serve as an acoustic dampener to minimize cable noise.

Furthermore, Klipsch has gone to great lengths to ensure the long-lasting durability of Image headphones, up to and including their 50-inch-long vinyl cables. The company has added appropriate strain relief at every cable connection point to help prevent wire damage, while also putting them through extensive “real world” testing.

The X10 is compatible with the iPod, iPhone and virtually any device with a standard headphone jack. These headphones also come with a carrying case and pouch, a ¼-inch adaptor, an airplane adaptor, five sets of ear tips, and an ear tip cleaning tool.

Priced at $349.99 (U.S. MSRP), Image X10 headphones are available for purchase at select retail locations and on klipsch.com. As a bonus, purchasers who complete an online warranty registration will receive a free package of replacement ear tips in the size of their choice.
