The Sound of Success: Klipsch Chosen for Popular Donald Trump Show

ProMedia 2.1By Sarah Knight

NBC's hit primetime reality series "The Apprentice" ranks among the nation's 10 most-watched shows. This unscripted drama, featuring Donald Trump, throws a crew of young hopefuls into New York City's corporate jungle where they compete for a top job in Trump's empire. And Klipsch is a part of it.

Throughout this 15-episode series, these aspiring business tycoons live together in a hip Manhattan loft that houses some of the coolest products money can buy, including the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1. When these competing candidates work on the 30" wide screen all-in-one multimedia PC, known as the Tek Panel™ 300, it's the ProMedia delivering their high-performance sound.

Thanks to Hy-Tek Manufacturing, makers of the Tek Panel™ 300, the ProMedia 2.1 has a re-occurring role on the program. Apparently, the show's producers contacted Hy-Tek after they saw a review of the Tek Panel™ on an American Airlines flight. After deciding that this amazing PC was a perfect fit for the show, the producers wanted great sounding speakers to go with it.

According to Chris Bastian, Hy-Tek's vice president of business development, he recommended that the producers use Klipsch because the ProMedia line has a solid reputation for powerful and clear sound.

"As expected, the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 performed beyond everyone's expectations," he said. "It's amazing that such a small speaker system can produce such brilliant and outstanding sound."

Kevin Harris, supervising producer on "The Apprentice", agrees that the ProMedia 2.1 is an amazing performer. "We chose the Tek Panel™ 300 because of the screen's modern and high-tech look, which fit with the style of the show. The Klipsch speakers were the icing on the cake."

When it was first brought to market, the Tek Panel™ 300 was outfitted with Bose product, but Hy-Tek has since changed its tune and made Klipsch the audio standard for the entire Tek Panel™ product line. Bastian said his company did an exhaustive search for a high-performance multimedia speaker solution and nothing really surprised them until they heard the Klipsch ProMedia system.

"The Tek Panel line consists of high-end products that use only the finest equipment and hardware," said Bastian. "We chose Klipsch as our audio partner because its speakers are the best in every category."

Because not every candidate on "The Apprentice" can be the best, every week someone gets to hear the Donald say those dreaded words "you're fired," but the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 is one contender that won't be let go for poor performance.
