Riding On and Rocking Out: Granite Mountain Harley Davidson Uses Klipsch
By Sarah Knight
Harley-Davidson motorcycles are more than modes of transportation. Harley's are rumbling muscular machines that symbolize free-spiritedness and the open road. When it comes to audio, Klipsch speakers are more than sound reproduction devices. Klipsch speakers create unique, memorable entertainment experiences that stir the soul and lift the spirit.
Klipsch and Harley-Davidson both know how to enrich the lives of their customers. When it comes to building their respective products, no detail is ignored and each is designed to enhance the owner's experience. And, even though both companies are dedicated to continuous innovation, they keep what has made them great - the Harley's trademark V-twin engines, teardrop gas tanks and oversized speedometers and Klipsch's exclusive high-efficiency, low distortion horn-loaded technology.
This no-compromise approach is what put these longstanding companies on the map and earned them a serious fan base of lifelong devotees. For the Harley or Klipsch owner, it's not about buying a bike or a speaker, it's about passion, performance and embracing a treasured lifestyle.
It's obvious something special happens when straddling a Harley or listening to a Klipsch loudspeaker, that's why Greg Becker, owner of Granite Mountain Harley Davidson in Conyers, Ga., decided to give his customers the best of both worlds by installing Klipsch speakers inside his dealership.
Based on Harley Davidson's new "designer store" concept, this large and modern facility is "HOG" heaven. It has a vast showroom with new and pre-owned Harley and Buell motorcycles, a complete service and parts department and a full line of Harley gifts and MotorClothes merchandise.
According to Becker, music is a big part of the Harley experience and he wanted his store to have the rock 'n' roll edge that's often associated with this iconic brand. Therefore, he sought the help of Muzak, the innovative music subscription company and Klipsch business partner.
When discussing various sound system options, Mike Wicks, senior account executive for Muzak, recommended that Becker use Klipsch products with the Muzak Encompass LE satellite music program because they could deliver the power and excitement the dealership needed. As a Klipsch owner himself, Wicks said "trust me you're going to love these speakers."
Bigger than most car dealerships, Granite Mountain Harley Davidson relies on 11 Klipsch CA-8T commercial all-weather loudspeakers to immerse its guests in a fun, freewheeling environment. Perfect for foreground or background applications, seven of these CA models broadcast inside the dealership, while four were placed outside to welcome customers and entertain them during special biker rallies and charity events.
Becker, who also owns Stone Mountain Harley-Davidson in Lilburn, GA., said if he were to open a third dealership he would use Klipsch again. "Klipsch speakers are great. They deliver clear, crisp and equal sound throughout my building."
More than just a retail outlet, Granite Mountain Harley Davidson is a nostalgic gathering place that introduces the un-indoctrinated to an American motorcycle brotherhood and gives Harley owners an opportunity to spark a feeling, rekindle a memory and point to the journey ahead.
