This is it. Today is my last day at Klipsch. It is surreal just to type that out.
Now, you may be wondering why the lowly “social media guy” is writing a blog post about his own departure. Is he really that arrogant and self-absorbed? Short answer? Probably. Long answer? Well…
There are two main reasons: it’s a big deal when anyone leaves Klipsch (much less me) and I wanted to thank each and every one of you who has interacted with Klipsch social media for the four and a half years I have been in charge of the Klipsch platforms.
In the past four and a half years, I have seen many awesome coworkers and friends come and go just like at any normal company. This isn’t a normal company, though. We serve as each other’s second family, celebrating birthdays and anniversaries, cracking jokes and generally being a pain in each other’s’ asses. I’m going to miss the crap out of these *******.
Klipsch is a “smaller” company that manages to do downright incredible things in the audio industry, competing against much bigger foes. From marketing to engineering to customer service and so forth, we’re all under one roof with each and every Klipsch employee geared towards being the best, no matter the circumstances.
I should get around to thanking all of you who are reading this post and who have followed Klipsch on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. Running these channels has been a challenge as Klipsch customers and fans are some of the most demanding and knowledgeable on the planet.
It has been a tremendous amount of fun, trying to explain the awesomeness of our gear is while having a little fun doing it. I sincerely hope that something I have posted over my four and a half years has brought a smile to your face at one point. I know plenty of you have done that for me.
I have always found it particularly entertaining and amusing when reading the funny responses, you all come up with for our caption contests and things of that ilk. I’ve caught myself laughing out loud in public at some of the ridiculous (and funny) things Klipsch fans have said. Oh and I really appreciate it when you come to Klipsch’s defense when internet trolls baselessly attack the company.
Hopefully, I have been helpful along the way for most of you and you have gotten a first class experience from the Klipsch brand. Yes, we may mess up sometimes, but we do genuinely care about making all of you as happy as possible with your purchases. We get that our products aren’t cheap and that you are expecting the very best.
For those curious, here are my Klipsch setups, check out the details below. I won’t go into all of the portable speakers and headphones that are littered throughout my house. (Side note: my friends and families are probably sick of receiving Klipsch gear as birthday/Christmas presents at this point.)
Which one sounds better? Tough to say since I use them for entirely different applications. I have a soft spot for the Heresy speakers because there is just so much history behind them and I love that they were handcrafted in Hope, Arkansas. Oh and they are absolutely stunning in person (even if my cat likes to scratch them) and they are stunning clear at high volumes. (Sorry, not sorry, to my neighbors.)
Anyway, I am not disappearing from the Klipsch landscape all together. The friends I have made here are of the permanent variety (whether they like it or not) and I am always going to be advocate for the company’s products. Heck, you may even find my rummaging through the Klipsch Forums from time to time.
The future for Klipsch is exceedingly bright and all Klipsch fans should be extremely excited by what the future holds. While I have gotten a glimpse of what’s to come, my lips are sealed. You’re just going to have to wait to find out! (Some clues are on the Klipsch Instagram, though.)
